A salute to the armed forces

My little granddaughter Snowdrop lives in quiet a bleak area of Wales but her idyllic lifestyle is one of fun, safety and love. She catches the bus to the school every weekday morning which is about four miles away, speaks two languages and has a smile for everyone.

This weekend is Memorial weekend in the USA when people celebrate their armed forces and thank them for keeping them safe. I salute all members of the armed forces all over the world, not just because I’m an ex serviceman, but because it isn’t difficult to see what this world would degenerate into without them.

God bless our serviceman; may their endeavours give children everywhere the idyllic life my little Snowdrop enjoys.
