A pie for the road

It’s been a lovely week having my daughter Tracey and Granddaughter Bubbles to stay, made even nicer because I wasn’t at work – the last few times they’ve come I’ve seen very little of them and always felt aggrieved. For the past five days I’ve neglected almost everything, including my studies and don’t feel an ounce of guilt – I’d rather have the memories.
So sadly I’ve just put them on the train to Newcastle-on-Tyne and as is traditional baked them a corned beef pie to take on their journey. Hopefully I will be going North in July to stay with them and touch base with my homeland.
