For the past three and a half hours I haven’t dared move and almost stopped blinking because I didn’t want to miss a second of the Wimbledon Men’s Tennis Final – and what a match it was.
Over the past year Andy Murray has lifted our spirits here in the UK by taking the Olympic Gold medal and the US open. Today he had everyone glued to the television sets and on the edge of their seats as he took the Wimbledon crown in three straight sets that felt like five. I’m totally exhausted after watching the match but once again extremely proud to be British.
Thank you Andy. And thank you Novak Jocowich for playing an unbelievably amazing match and still being so gracious in defeat. Today I’ve been privileged to see two real champions.
