My cousin Jane recently found this photo and so I felt I had a duty to pinch it and post it here. It shows our Great Grandma Jane Anne Cawthorne (front centre) working as a munitionette at Vickers munitions factory in Scotswood during the First World War. She was a supervisor. As with Jane I love this picture.
One of my great-great-great grandmothers (my dad’s mother’s mother’s mother’s mother) was Elizabeth Cawthorne (1819-1893). Maybe we’re related. 🙂
