Between 1972 and 1975 I served on a British Warship called HMS Scylla. Recently I was googling Scylla and came across this photo. It’s a sort of abstract picture of Scylla on the sea bed after she had been scuppered at the end of her days. Most warships are scrapped but Scylla was sunk off the south coast of England to become a living reef and I so love that idea. I only have to look at this picture to feel very moved; part of me will always be with her.
