Yesterday I spent the day visiting four different Family Centres across Carmarthenshire so I guess our organisation is considering the concept following recent cuts to our budgets. All of the centres were very different in terms of their model; one was a converted council house, one was a converted school, the third was a purpose build and the last one was a very new Integrated Children’s Centre. Although all of the centres were meeting the needs of the communities where they were situated I found the last one a bit too clinical for my taste (even though it looked as though money was no object). To be honest I thought the converted council house was brilliant because it was providing all sorts of support bang in the heart of the community. Naturally I took a few pix.
