A few of my beautiful little people
So relieved to have my grand daughter back with me I feel as though a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I dont really have the words to express how much it means to be able to hug her tight and see the lovely sparkle in her eye hasnt diminished one iota. Im writing this post on my phone because Bubbles has borrowed my ipad to do all her Facebooky stuff which is a great sign. Thankyou Lord x x x
On my recent trip to Newcastle I caught up with my beloved grand daughter Bubbles who I love more that words can say. She was born in 1982 and is now approaching her 21st birthday which is a stark reminder of how time flies and how short our lives really are.
For the first 14 years of her life I took her everywhere with me; she was my constant companion. The painting shows us walking along the river Trent in Newark, Nottinghamshire – something we did often to see the swans and other wildlife.
The photo of us when she was a child shows one of thousands of conversations we had about life when (as Gandad) I had all the answers to all the questions in the world.
Now as an adult Bubbles has her own apartment, a job she loves and a fabulous life in my hometown of Newcastle; the recent photo was taken in her apartment a couple of days ago and although we don’t look at our best (she had just got up and I had been on a very chilly trip north) it was wonderful just cuddling up and catching up.
Inside her apartment, in a very prominent place, is a framed photo of us in one of our super duper hugs and on the wall is the original painting you see here. I loved that x x x
