
One of the things I loved (and still do) about the Far East was their artwork, which for decades I’ve wrestled to replicate, usually failing miserably. Today, channelling my inner oriental artist, I had another pop at it with today’s sketch.
Using simple lines the idea is that each line takes you into another line on a sort of never ending circular journey around the piece – with the end result delicately depicting a typical oriental scene that captivates the viewer.
As an illustrator I’m very heavy handed and so delicate I am not. In this sketch I’ve tried two different sized pens but still need to try even finer ones to get a sketch worth painting. Got a feeling I’m gonna be wrestling for a few more decades yet
