Happy 8th birthday Mowgli xxxx xxxx

I found my dog as a puppy (or I should say he found me) on the back streets of Panjim, India, when he crawled out of the jungle. He’d been run over by a motorbike, was starving and flea infested and yet somehow crawled towards me as I was sat having a cigarette. After a trip to the vet where he was jabbed and treated for everything he was stoked up on boiled eggs for a few weeks and has spent the last eight years being loved to bits. The only fly in his ointment was having to fly from India to UK and then do his ‘porridge in the pen’ (quarantine) for six months but somehow we got through it and here we are.

People say he’s a lucky fella. Maybe. But then I’m blessed.

After the Vet, the beach…

Last night my little man Mowgli was really not himself; he was very restless and quite poorly swallowing and coughing all the time. A few times during the night he had me up and outside walking him in the rain; all he wanted to do was eat plants as though doing that gave him some relief. It was almost as though he had something stuck in his throat.

This morning we took Mowgli to the vet where he was very brave letting the man put his fingers down his throat and stick needles in him (anti-inflammatory medicine). The vet didn’t find anything but thought since his airway wasn’t obstructed Mowgli may have either strained something coughing or grazed the inside of his food pipe eating. We need to observe him over the weekend and go back Monday if things persist when they will sedate him and do a more indepth exploratory. I really hate Mowgli being poorly, I’m always frightened about what might happen.

Anyway as a treat for him being good at the vet we took him to a very isolated beach on the outskirts of St. Davids where he wallowed in the pools and paddled in the sea. He loved it. Interestingly while we were out all of the plants he had been eating began evacuating from him and since coming home he seems to have picked up. I hope so.

Flying visit to Pembrokeshire…

A few snaps from our trip to Wales showing some views of a house we really liked. Also the darker landscape photo is one I took of Cardigan Bay from Gwbert where we went out for a meal; the lighter landscape with the lighthouse is the view from my daughters house on Strumble Head. No collection would be complete without my main man Mowgli sitting on the back of Carols legs; check out his new slim line figure!

While in Wales I went down to Pembroke to do necessary paperwork related to my new job and all is well so far 🙂
