Drawing ‘Who needs incentive’ submitted to the National Mineworkers Art Exhibition 1978 at Olympia, Blackpool. The painting took First Prize in Class 3 which came with a £60 prize. When offered a further £60 for the painting I refused to sell it because I hated the job so much that I didn’t want it on display. When reurned to me it was unframed, rolled up and placed in a cardboard tube where it has remained ever since.
